GENERAL OVERVIEW

The National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) is the main training institution for Malaysian Public Service. It plays an important role in development of the human resources in the Malaysian Public Sector. The purpose of INTAN’s library is to support INTAN vision to be a premier public sector learning institution and INTAN mission to develop competent public sector workforce through quality learning.


ABOUT THE LIBRARY

    June 1972 - The National Institute of PublicA dministration (INTAN) library was established at Jalan Elmu, Kuala Lumpur.

    1983 - The establishment of three (3) other branches library which include INTAN Northern Regional Campus (INTURA) in Sungai Petani, Kedah; INTAN Eastern Regional Campus (INTIM) in Kemaman, Terengganu and INTAN Southern Regional Campus (IKWAS) in Kluang, Johor.

    1984 - INTAN's main campus library, located at Bukit Kiara Kuala Lumpur was officially opened.

    1998 - INTAN Jalan Elmu then became the INTAN Central Regional Campus (INTENGAH)

    1999 - INTAN Sarawak Campus(INSARA) in Kuching, Sarawak was established. Library service was officially opened in 2002.

    2001 - INTAN Library Sabah Campus (INSABAH) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah begun its services.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To provide services and facilities towards support learning, training and research at INTAN's campus through the provision of access printed material and online resources;

  2. To provide reference information and advisory services to the library users;

  3. To develop a comprehensive library collection in line with INTAN's mission and vission.


MISSION

  1. To manage library services and electronic collections;

  2. To store, manage and disseminate information via electronic, printed media; and

  3. To be the centre of excellence for collection development in supporting with INTAN's role and function.


VISION

    To become a knowledge hub for management and leadership collection in order to support research work in INTAN
